Houd zoveel mogelijk de zon uit het huis en lucht pas 's avonds door, dan blijft het redelijk koel. Is het te warm om te slapen? In de rommelkamer staat een mobiele airco en in de logeerkamer een ventilator.

Keep the sun out of the house as much as possible and only air it out in the evening — that keeps it reasonably cool. Too warm to sleep? There's a portable AC unit in the storage room and a fan in the guest room.

Zouden jullie voor en achter de planten water willen geven, zo'n 2x per week? De kraan hiervoor zit binnen naast de voordeur. Wel goed dichtdraaien, want af en toe springt de slang eraf door de waterdruk.

Could you water the plants at the front and back, about twice a week? The tap for this is inside next to the front door. Please turn it off properly — the hose can pop off due to water pressure.

Wifi koppel je door de QR-code te scannen op het kastje onder de kapstok. De JBL-speaker hangt aan de kast in de woonkamer (clip 5), en er staat ook een gele speaker bij de boeken.

Connect to wifi by scanning the QR code on the box under the coat rack. The JBL speaker is clipped to the cupboard in the living room, and there's also a yellow speaker by the books.

De lamp bij de bank en de verlichting bij de boom staan op tijdschakelaar, zodat het huis bewoond lijkt. Een aantal deuren (keuken, washok, kussenhok, rommelkamer) sluit je door de klink even omhoog te bewegen. De dubbele tuindeur in de rommelkamer is een kiepkanteldeur — die wijst zich vanzelf.

The lamp by the sofa and the lighting by the tree are on a timer, so the house looks lived-in. A few doors (kitchen, laundry room, cushion room, storage room) lock by lifting the handle slightly. The double garden door in the storage room is a tilt-and-turn door — fairly self-explanatory.

In de keuken staat een kleiwaterfilter (met kraanwater vullen, duurt even) en een Brita-filter. Uit de kraan drinken kan ook, maar dan met een bijsmaakje.

In the kitchen there's a clay water filter (fill it with tap water, takes a while) and a Brita filter. Tap water is fine to drink too, just with a slight taste.

Het zwembad moet af en toe schoongemaakt worden — vraag Maurice en Genien naar het instructiefilmpje. Het is maar 1 meter diep, dus liever niet induiken. De schoonmaakspullen liggen in het tussenhok naast het wasmachinehok.

The pool needs cleaning from time to time — ask Maurice and Genien for the instructional video. It's only 1 metre deep, so better not to dive in. The cleaning kit is in the small room next to the laundry room.

Check bij het weggaan (overdag of 's avonds) altijd alle ramen en deuren. In de logeerkamer ligt een latje in het schuifraam, gebruik dat ook. Vuilnis kun je weggooien bij de ingang van de urbanisatie. Badkamer schoonmaken? Graag alleen met een sopje van groene zeep.

Whenever you leave the house (day or evening), check all windows and doors. In the guest room there's a small wooden latch in the sliding window — use that too. Rubbish can be dropped off at the entrance of the urbanisation. Cleaning the bathroom? Please use only a mild green soap solution.

Gebruik je de sup boards? Zet ze goed vast op het autodak met de zwarte spanbanden en de zwarte rolletjes ertussen, zodat de huurauto geen schade oploopt. Check van tevoren de golfhoogte via meteoblue.com of beachcam.meo.pt.
